Bruins lose 1-0 to Canadiens

Tim Thomas robs Alexei KovalevThe Bruins' playoffs chances look slim now with their latest loss coming tonight against the Montreal Canadiens, a team they are battling to get into the playoffs with. Tim Thomas kept the Bruins in the game for all three periods as Montreal looked stronger than the Bruins. The Bruins' fourth line with Jeremy Reich, Jeff Hoggan, and Ben Walter was probably the Bruins most physical line that had some chances but couldn't finish. The only goal was scored by Canadiens' Guillaume Latendresse (his 16th goal of the season) with a minute left in the second period as Montreal was gaining momentum. Canadiens' goalie Jaroslav Halak was the story though as he made 30 saves to get his first shutout.

The Bruins play the Montreal Canadiens again on Thursday night to finish the home-and-home series. The Bruins need a better effort and need to play better defensively and actually score a goal if they want to win on Thursday.
