Savard signs 7-year contract extension

It's now official. Today it was announced that the Bruins have signed center Marc Savard to a 7-year contract through the 2016-17 season. Tomorrow a press conference will be held.

Since signing with the Bruins as a free agent on July 1, 2006, the 32-year-old Savard has led the team in scoring each of the last three seasons, in addition to leading the team’s postseason scoring race each of the last two seasons. Savard has twice finished in the league’s top ten in scoring with 95+ points and has played in two consecutive NHL All-Star Games.

This is good to see as Savard has been the Bruins best offensive player since they signed him. So he'll basically be here for the rest of his career.
