Bruins and Sabres injury reports

Some good news for the Bruins in that defenseman Andrew Ference will play tonight in Game 1 vs the Sabres. Now for the injury news.

Who is out for the Bruins:
  • Marc Savard is out for the season with a head injury. There has been some talk that he may come back in the second round of the playoffs if the Bruins advance, but I think that's a long shot due to the severity of the concussion he sustained.
  • Mark Stuart will miss this series after finger surgery.
  • Defenseman Dennis Seidenberg is out indefinitely after arm surgery.

For the Sabres, forward Tim Connolly is probable for tonights game. Who is out for the Sabres:
  • Drew Stafford suffered a concussion and is questionable for tonight.
  • Jochen Hecht has an upper-body injury and is questionable. Update: Hecht is out for the series.

The Stanley Cup of Chowder site has a good break down of the series looking at both teams. They also mention something I think is important for the Bruins to recognize: "Don't let that gutless P.O.S. Patrick Kaleta bait you into any dumb penalties."

Kaleta is known for his talking and cheap hits so watch your back when he is on the ice and don't retaliate. He is the Maxim Lapierre of the Sabres.
