Today the Bruins recalled defenseman Adam McQuaid from the Providence Bruins (AHL) on an emergency basis.
The 6'5" 209-pound Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island native was originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round (55th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. McQuaid was traded to Boston from Columbus for a 2007 fifth round draft pick on May 16, 2007.
