Bruins vs Flyers game 3 summary

Game 3 was won by the Bruins by the score 4-1 but it was a closer game than the score would say. The Bruins now lead the series 3-0 and will play Game 4 on Friday. The Flyers controlled most of the play in the first and second periods but Tuukka Rask was awesome and you could say that he stole this game. The game stats are below.

In the first period, at 2:32, Arron Asham (2) scored assisted by Claude Giroux and Blair Betts. At 4:11, Blake Wheeler (1) scored assisted by Matt Hunwick and Marc Savard. At 5:45, Miroslav Satan (Miro the Hero, this goal would eventually be the game winner) (5) scored assisted by Milan Lucic and David Krejci. Krejci was laid out with a big hit from Flyers captain Mike Richards. Krejci left the game and did not return.

In the second period, no scoring happened.

In the third period, at 2:30, Mark Recchi (4) scored a power play goal assisted by Blake Wheeler and Zdeno Chara. At 18:08, Patrice Bergeron (4) scored an empty net goal.

Besides Krejci getting injured in the first period, defenseman Adam McQuaid also got injured and did not return to the game. Tuukka Rask made 34 saves on 35 shots and is now 7-2 in the playoffs. The Flyers led the game in shots 35-19. The Bruins led the game in faceoff wins 31-22.

Some early news about the two Bruins injuries suffered tonight:
David Krejci left the game with an injury in the first period after taking a big open ice hit from Mike Richards. He did not return to the game. Claude Julien said after the game that Krejci was taken to a Philadelphia area hospital. It appeared to be a shoulder injury. Adam McQuiad also left the game with an undisclosed injury in the first period. Joe Haggerty of Comcast Sports Net New England is reporting that Krejci has a "potentially separated shoulder" and McQuaid has a sprained knee.
