Bruins sign Wheeler to 1-year contract

On Thursday Blake Wheeler was given a one-year, $2.2 million arbitration award from the arbitration hearing on Tuesday. Today it was announced that the Bruins have signed Wheeler to the one-year, $2.2 million contract.

Next up is signing rookie Tyler Seguin with their limited cap space. The Bruins will need to do something to clear some cap space before the season starts.

The Bruins are now over the $59.4 million cap. They can exceed the cap by 10 percent during the offseason, allowing them to reach as high as $65,340,000 prior to the start of the regular season.
