Trent Whitfield possibly out for season

If true it looks like Bruins center Trent Whitfield may be out for next season due to a achilles tendon injury. Whitfield probably would have started the season in Providence (AHL) anyways and would be the first call-up if needed. So with this injury it will give a young player an opportunity to be the first call-up when needed.

Bruins center Trent Whitfield suffered an Achilles' tendon injury and could miss the season, according to a Comcast SportsNet report. Whitfield spent most of last season with AHL Providence, but played 16 games for the big club and four more in the playoffs.
