Bruins tie game late but lose in overtime

Saturday night's game by the Bruins got them a point but they were lucky to get that point as they seemed to not get much going during the game. The Bruins were able to tie the game in the final minute of the game with the goalie pulled to send it into overtime but the Penguins would score in overtime for the 3-2 win.

In the second period, Zdeno Chara scored his 11th goal of the season to make it 1-0 Bruins. The Penguins would score twice in the period to take a 2-1 lead.

In the third period, with 33 seconds left, David Krejci scored his 10th goal of the season to tie the game 2-2. The game would go into overtime and the Penguins would score to win it.

Tim Thomas played in net and made 36 saves on 39 shots. Thomas is now 29-8-7, with a 1.97 GAA, and a .939 save percentage.

The Penguins led the game in shots 39-31. The Bruins led the game in faceoff wins 29-27 and hits 32-19. Both teams had 14 blocked shots. You can watch the game summary video here.

The Bruins currently have 62 fighting majors this season, which is tied for 2nd in the league with the St. Louis Blues, behind the Pittsburgh Penguins who lead the league. With 62 so far this season, this is the Bruins highest amount since the 2001-02 season when they had 83 total for the season.

Michael Ryder and Chris Kelly were both a -2.

Dennis Seidenberg led the game in hits with 7.

Rich Peverley went 9-7 taking faceoffs.

David Krejci had a goal and an assist, while Milan Lucic had 2 assists, and Nathan Horton had an assist.

Onto the next one
The Bruins next game is on Tuesday at the Montreal Canadiens. It will be the first meeting between these two teams since the game in Boston with the line brawls. Will Montreal call up Alex Henry or another tough guy from the AHL for this game? We'll see what happens.
