Leafs dominate Bruins 5-2

Saturday night the Bruins were completely outplayed by the Toronto Maple Leafs and were beaten by the score 5-2. It was a real bad game overall for the Bruins. Tim Thomas started in net but was pulled in the second period after allowing the fourth goal and Tuukka Rask finished the period. Claude Julien then put Thomas back in net for the third period. My guess on that move is that Rask will play in the next game.

The Bruins goal scorers were Adam McQuaid (his 2nd goal of the season) and Daniel Paille (his 3rd goal of the season).

In the third period, Nathan Horton challenged Dion Phaneuf to drop the gloves, dropped his gloves and his helmet, while Phaneuf kept talking. Phaneuf finally dropped the gloves but kept his helmet with a visor on and started fighting with Horton.

Nathan Horton vs Dion Phaneuf

Tim Thomas made 18 saves on 22 shots. Thomas is now 29-10-8, with a 2.08 GAA, and a .937 save percentage this season. Rask made 6 saves on 7 shots. Rask now has a 2.75 GAA and a .917 save percentage.

The Bruins led the game in shots 37-29, faceoff wins 32-31, and hits 27-24. Both teams had 14 blocked shots.

Some notes of the game
Andrew Ference returned to the lineup as Steve Kampfer was a scratch. Ference was a -3 in 14:17 of ice time.

Onto the next one
The Bruins next game is on Tuesday against the New Jersey Devils in Boston.
