Bergeron sustains mild concussion

On Saturday, Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli confirmed that Patrice Bergeron has sustained a mild concussion from Claude Giroux's somewhat late hit on Friday and is expected not to start the series against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Video of the hit is down below if you haven't seen it.

"When I spoke with him after the game," said Chiarelli, "he was a little despondent, but he was quite lucid, to me. But he was despondent having suffered another concussion."

When asked if it were fair to assume that Bergeron would miss the first couple of games of the next series, Chiarelli said, "I guess anything could happen, but that is the assumption I am operating under."

This is not good at all for Bergeron. This is his third concussion in 3 1/2 years. This is a huge loss for the Bruins.

Tyler Seguin will likely get into the lineup but I think you'll see Rich Peverly on the line with Mark Recchi and Brad Marchand. Peverley has been playing well.
