The Bruins came out in the first period strong, scoring three goals and looking to be in good shape. But the rest of the game was controlled by the Lightning. They came back scoring three quick goals in the second period to tie the game. Then in the third period, Bruins killer Simon Gagne scored the go-ahead goal to make it 4-3 Lightning. The Lightning would then add an empty net goal to finish the game 5-3.

For the Bruins, Patrice Bergeron scored the first goal, his 3rd of the playoffs. Michael Ryder would score the second goal for the Bruins, his 5th goal of the season. And Bergeron would score his 4th goal of the playoffs, second of the game to make it 3-0 Bruins. The Bruins looked strong in the first period and for whatever reason they didn't play the same way in the second and third periods. So now the series is tied 2-2 and going back to Boston for Game 5.

Tim Thomas made 32 saves on 36 shots. Thomas is now 10-5 with a 2.34 GAA and a .929 save percentage.

The Lightning led the game in shots 36-30, in faceoff wins 39-26 and in hits 26-22.

Notes from the game

At the end of the first period, troublemaker Steve Downie started a scrum and Rich Peverley and Marc-Andre Bergeron ended up dropping the gloves in an uneventful fight.
