Tonight is the 1st round of the 2011-12 NHL draft and the Boston Bruins had the 9th overall pick, their last draft pick from the Phil Kessel trade. The Bruins selected defenseman Dougie Hamilton. Hamilton is 6'4", 187 lbs, born in Toronto, Ontario in 1993, he is a right-handed shot, he played for the Niagara IceDogs in the OHL last year and had 12 goals and 46 assists for 58 points in 67 games, along with 77 PIMs and +35. NHL Central Scouting's Chris Edwards on Hamilton: "He moves the puck well and makes good outlet passes, he does make good decisions with the puck, moves it very well out of his zone. He's a big guy, he'll take the body. ... He uses his size well. He can muscle people off the puck." (Source)
