The Bruins beat the Canucks 5-2 in Game 6 and have forced a Game 7 on Wednesday in Vancouver. Roberto Luongo, who criticized Tim Thomas on the only goal he gave up in Game 5, allowed 3 goals on 8 shots in only 8:35 of ice time in the first period. Cory Schneider came in after the third Bruins goal and played well but Thomas was the star of this game once again.

In the first period, Brad Marchand scored his 9th goal of the playoffs, shooting the puck high over Luongo's glove short side as he raced into the zone on his off-wing side. 35 seconds later, Milan Lucic scored his 5th goal of the playoffs, getting one through Luongo's five-hole to make it 2-0 Bruins. 2:29 later, Andrew Ference scored his 4th goal of the playoffs, a power-play goal which went right by a screened Luongo and into the net short-side. Schneider came into the net for Vancouver and 1:10 later Michael Ryder tipped in a Tomas Kaberle shot to score his 8th goal of the playoffs to make it 4-0.

Near the beginning of the game Mason Raymond was checked by Johnny Boychuk into the boards but Raymond went into the boards with his backside. It didn't look like a bad hit but Raymond had trouble getting off the ice. It looked like a possible knee or leg injury. It was later said he had to be put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. We hope he is ok. You can see the hit below.

In the second period no scoring happened.

In the third period, Henrik Sedin finally scored in the series to make it a 4-1 game. Later, David Krejci scored his 12th goal of the playoffs, a power-play goal to make it 5-1. Pro-flopper Maxim Lapierre scored later on for the Canucks to make it 5-2.

Tim Thomas made 36 saves on 38 shots. Thomas is now 15-9 with a 2.06 GAA and a .937 save percentage in the playoffs. During the pre-game warmups they showed Thomas coming out onto the ice and shooting a puck down into the Canucks net.

The Bruins led the game in shots 40-38, faceoff wins 46-28, and hits 43-38. The Bruins went 1 for 4 on the power-play while the Canucks went 1 for 5.

Notes from the game
Nathan Horton was in attendance and during one of the television timeouts Horton waved a Bruins rally towel to fire up the fans.

Patrice Bergeron took three minor penalties in the second period alone and one in the third period. Bergeron was +1, with 1 shot, and went 11-7 in faceoffs.

Tomas Kaberle had 2 assists with 4 shots.

Chris Kelly went 14-5 in faceoffs.

Mark Recchi had 3 assists, was +1, and had 4 shots.

Michael Ryder had a goal and an assist with 3 shots.

Shawn Thornton led the Bruins in hits with 7.

Onto the next one
Game 7 is on Wednesday in Vancouver at 8pm ET. The Bruins need 1 more win to bring the Cup to Boston. It all comes down to one last game. This has been a great series. We'll see who gets to raise the Cup on Wednesday.

Just a side-note: the last three Stanley Cup winners have won the Cup on the road. Mark Recchi is 2-0 in Stanley Cup final series.

you say it didnt look like a bad hit, but either was romes hit, his was just 1/2 a second late, this was over 5 seconds late, no call?
then in the 3rd that little rat punches sedin 6 times, no call?
wow ?
bush league.
wonder how long the suspension will be, if there is no suspension, what will the reason  be,
rome they said was a clean hit but late,
so clean hits cant be late,
cant wait to see the outcome, or will the league make up some reason they want boston,
lets see no suspension because ?/

Rome's hit didn't look bad? Uh ok.

Boychuk was pushing his guy against the boards to take him out of the play and unfortunately Raymond got turned around and got injured somehow. I doubt there will be any suspension for Boychuk as there was no penalty on the play and it didn't look like the Canucks were upset by it.About the power-plays, well Canucks had 5, Bruins had 4.About Marchand, yes he should have got a penalty for jabbing Sedin and he did. Marchand got 2 minutes for roughing and a 10-minute misconduct. Sedin also got 10-minute misconduct during that incident.

Why the 10-minute on Sedin?

And you can bet the Canucks were pissed about the hit on Raymond, but they know by now that if there's no call on the ice there's no use looking for help from the refs or the league.  Marchand banging away at Sedin's face proved that.

I don't know why Sedin got 10. From TV they didn't show him doing anything but looked like he was yelling at the ref, so maybe he said something that got him thrown out. Just like Lapierre got a 10-minute misconduct too, I'm guessing for saying something to the refs.

So Raymond got a broken ass?
