In the first period, Patrice Bergeron scored the first goal of the game, the eventual game winner, his 5th goal of the playoffs, off a nice pass from Brad Marchand.

In the second period, Marchand scored his 10th goal of the playoffs, attempting a wrap-around and Luongo knocked it into his own net. Bergeron would later score a short-handed goal, his 6th goal of the playoffs and 2nd goal of the game. Bergeron went crashing into Luongo and the net as he got hooked down from behind and the puck found its way into the net. Some were saying that Bergeron knocked the puck into the net with his glove but they reviewed the goal and it stood as a good goal.

In the third period, with Luongo pulled, Marchand scored his 11th goal of the playoffs and 2nd goal of the game to make it 4-0 and put the Canucks away.

Tim Thomas saved all 37 shots against him to get his 4th shutout of the playoffs. In the playoffs, Thomas went 16-9 with a 1.98 GAA and a .940 save percentage.

The Canucks led the game in shots 37-20 and hits 47-29. The Bruins led the game in faceoff wins 29-26.

Notes from the game
After game 6, Canucks Daniel Sedin said that the Canucks would win Game 7. Not only was he wrong but he and his brother Henrik were both -4 in Game 7.

Before the game, Nathan Horton poured some water onto the Vancouver ice. It was water from the Boston TD Garden. Nathan Horton: "Yeah, I put the Garden Ice on it."^BISH Source

How about the Bergeron-Marchand-Recchi line coming up huge. Bergeron had 2 goals, was +4, with 4 shots, 5 hits, and went 5-6 in faceoffs. Marchand had 2 goals and an assist, was +3, and had 3 shots. Recchi had an assist, was +3 and 4-0 in faceoffs.

Recchi told reporters after the game that he is retiring from the NHL. What a way to go. I'm glad he stuck around for this season. Recchi is 3-0 in Stanley Cup Finals in his Hall of Fame career.

Dennis Seidenberg had 2 assists, was +2, had 2 blocked shots and 4 hits.

Zdeno Chara was +2, had 3 blocked shots and 1 hit.

Bruins are champs!
The Bruins won their first Stanley Cup championship since 1972. I'm so proud of this team and so happy.

The Boston Bruins are the 2010-2011 Stanley Cup Champions!

In case you haven't seen these yet, Tim Thomas wins the Conn Smythe Trophy, Gary Bettman awards the Bruins with the Stanley Cup, the Bruins team photo with the Stanley Cup, and the Bruins celebrate in the locker room. Check out the pictures page too, I'll be adding new ones as I find them.

We hope everyone in Vancouver is ok with a riot going on with fires, stupid people jumping on top of cars on fire and overturned cars. Hopefully any Bruins fans who went to the game are ok and safe. Even one stupid Canucks fan named Brock Anton posting on Facebook all of the crimes he committed.
