Bruins get break, beat Ducks 3-2

Andrew Cogliano goalie interference on Marty Turco
An apparent goal by Anaheim Ducks Matt Belesky (not pictured) is waived after officials determined that Andrew Cogliano (7) had both feet in the crease and was pressed up against Boston Bruins goalie Marty Turco when the puck went in the net during the third period of an NHL hockey game in Anaheim, Calif., on Sunday, March 25, 2012. On a night that Rich Peverley returned to the Bruins lineup, the Bruins caught a huge break in Sunday night's game against the Anaheim Ducks to help them go on to a 3-2 win over the Ducks. A goal in the third period, which would have tied the game 2-2, was disallowed because the refs and Toronto determined that was goalie interference on Marty Turco. I'm all for getting the right calls but I don't know about that one. Andrew Cogliano was in the crease but from the replays he didn't appear to make any contact with Turco so in my mind that should have been a good goal, but the Bruins got lucky. Maybe it's the hockey gods evening things out, as you remember many felt the Bruins got screwed in the Tampa Bay game where Pyatt's kicking motion goal was called good.

Quick game summary
In the first period, no scoring happened.

In the second period, Zdeno Chara scored his 12th goal of the season, making it 1-0. A little more than a minute later, Benoit Pouliot scored his 13th goal of the season, making it 2-0. Later, Teemu Selanne scored a power-play goal, to make it 2-1.

In the third period, the disallowed goal took place and later Brian Rolston scored his 7th goal of the season, making it 3-1. Later, Lubomir Visnovsky scored to make it 3-2. The Ducks would pull their goalie but weren't able to get anymore past Marty Turco and the Bruins won 3-2.

Marty Turco played well in net and made some real nice saves, stopping 25 of 27 shots he faced. Turco got his first win of the season, and is now 1-1 with a 3.40 GAA and a .869 save percentage this season.

Game notes
Rich Peverley returned to the Bruins lineup and Daniel Paille found himself a healthy scratch. Peverley played on a line with Bergeron and Marchand. Seguin joined Lucic and Krejci. The hot Kelly-Pouliot-Rolston line stayed together. Caron joined Thornton and Campbell on the fourth line. Joe Corvo continues to be scratched in favor for Greg Zanon, and Zanon has been improving.

The Bruins led the game in faceoff wins 39-28, hits 27-20 and blocked shots 15-13. The Ducks led the game in shots 27-25.

The Bruins went 0-for-2 on the power-play while the Ducks went 1-for-3.

Greg Zanon led the Bruins with 6 hits.

Brian Rolston has a 6-game point streak going, with 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points.

Onto the next one
The Bruins are now 44-28-3 with 91 points. The Bruins are 5-5-0 in their last 10 games (just like the Rangers). The next game for the Bruins is on Tuesday, hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning in Boston at 7:30pm ET. The Bruins got embarrassed in Tampa Bay a few weeks back and I hope the Bruins get some revenge in this game.
