Members of the Boston Bruins including Brad Marchand (63), David Krejci (46), Milan Lucic (17), Dennis Seidenberg (44), of Germany, and Boston Bruins center Chris Kelly (23) celebrate with Tyler Seguin, top left, after Seguin scored the game-winning goal to beat the Washington Capitals 4-3 in overtime in Game 6 of an NHL hockey Stanley Cup first-round playoff series, Sunday, April 22, 2012, in Washington. There will be a Game 7 between the Bruins and Capitals as Tyler Seguin scored the game winning goal in overtime earlier today to win Game 6 for the Bruins. Seguin was awarded the Bruins "Chain" after the game.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Rich Peverley scored his 3rd goal of the playoffs, a power-play goal to take a 1-0 Bruins lead. A few minutes later, Mike Green scored to tie the game 1-1. Later, David Krejci scored his 1st goal of the playoffs, a power-play goal to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead.

In the second period, Jason Chimera scored with 42 seconds left in the period to tie the game 2-2. Benoit Pouliot and Troy Brouwer got matching penalties at a faceoff after the goal. Brouwer put his stick up in between Pouliot's legs and Pouliot slashed at Brouwer. Capitals players seem to like to go for the groin area.

In the third period, Andrew Ference scored his 1st goal of the playoffs to make it 3-2 Bruins. A few minutes later, Alex Ovechkin scored to tie the game up 3-3.

In overtime, Tyler Seguin scored his 1st goal of the playoffs to win the game for the Bruins. Game 7 will be on Wednesday in Boston.

Tim Thomas made 36 saves on 39 shots. Thomas is now 3-3 with a 2.18 GAA and a .922 save percentage in the playoffs this year.

Game notes
The Bruins led the game in hits 37-34. The Capitals led the game in shots 39-31, faceoff wins 42-40 and blocked shots 12-9.

The Bruins went 1-for-5 on the power-play while the Capitals went 0-for-4.

Claude Julien had two lineup changes for Game 6 as he scratched Shawn Thornton and Joe Corvo (injured) for Jordan Caron and Mike Mottau. I did not like seeing Thornton out of the lineup as he was the one who gave the Bruins energy after a big hit in the last game. Caron played 4:56 and finished -1 with 1 shot and 1 hit.

David Krejci led the Bruins with 5 shots.

Dennis Seidenberg led the Bruins with 6 hits.

Onto the next one
The series is now tied 3-3 and it will be decided in Game 7 on Wednesday in Boston. The start time hasn't yet been decided.
