Today Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli announced that the Bruins traded goalie Tim Thomas to the New York Islanders for a conditional second round pick in 2014 or 2015. Source

So it's officially over, Tim Thomas is no longer a member of the Boston Bruins. We wish Thomas the best and thank him for what he did for the Bruins to win the Stanley Cup championship in the 2010-2011 season. This trade will give the Bruins some cap room for a possible trade. That second round pick could really be a good pick depending if the Islanders don't improve in the coming seasons.
