Bruins lose to Senators, will face Toronto in playoffs

The Bruins could have moved up to second place in the Eastern Conference with a win tonight against the Ottawa Senators but the Senators outplayed and outworked the Bruins for a 4-2 win. With the loss, the Bruins stayed in 4th place in the Eastern Conference and Ottawa moved up to 7th place. The Bruins will face Toronto and Ottawa will play Montreal in the playoffs.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Senators Erik Condra scored, making it 1-0 Senators. Bruins Milan Lucic and Senators Chris Neil had a spirited fight near the end of the period with Lucic getting the better of the fight.

In the second period, Senators Jared Cowen scored, making it 2-0. With 4 seconds left in the period, Bruins Rich Peverley scored his 6th goal of the season, a power-play goal, making it 2-1.

In the third period, 14 seconds into the period, Bruins Dennis Seidenberg scored his 4th goal of the season, tying the game 2-2. With less than four minutes left in the period, Senators Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored, making it 3-2. Later, Senators Kyle Turris scored an empty-net goal, making it 4-2.

Tuukka Rask played in net for the Bruins and made 18 saves on 21 shots. Rask finishes the season with a 19-10-5 record, a 2.00 GAA and a .929 save percentage.

Onto the next one
The Bruins finish the season 28-14-6 with 62 points, and 4th place in the Eastern Conference. The Bruins will face the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the playoffs. I will post the Bruins playoffs schedule once it's released.
