Today Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli also gave updates on forwards Patrice Bergeron and Chris Kelly. Bergeron was injured in Tuesday's game against the Ottawa Senators when Colin Greening's shoulder or elbow hit Bergeron in the head when they were both reaching for the puck and Bergeron left the game after that. Chiarelli confirmed that Bergeron did suffer a "moderate" concussion and he will be out of the lineup indefinitely. This is Bergeron's fourth career concussion (#1 from cheapshot by Flyers Randy Jones, #2 from collision with Hurricanes Dennis Seidenberg, #3 from Flyers in game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals).

"I talked to Patrice - Patrice suffered a concussion, described as moderate," said Chiarelli. "I talked to him probably about an hour ago, he was in very good spirits, he was out walking today."

For Bergeron, especially with his concussion history, Chiarelli said that the alternate captain was "annoyed at it; he was emotional last night."

"I don't know when you'll see him again, but he sounded really good, and we'll work together in getting him back."

As for Bergeron's timetable, Chiarelli said he "won't have any further update until I have some significant information for you. But long story short is he got hit in the back below the ear - he said his neck is very sore. That's as much as I know."

Chiarelli also said that Chris Kelly, who is out with a broken left tibia, should be back soon. He didn't give a date so it's hard to tell what he may mean by "soon" so I'm going to guess maybe in a week.
