Bruins vs Blackhawks game 5 summary

The first period was pretty even between the two teams but the Blackhawks capitalized on a bounce that went their way and went up a goal. The second period saw the Blackhawks getting more chances and going up 2-0. The Bruins would put pressure on Chicago the whole third period and make it 2-1 but Chicago would add an empty-net to put the game away and go up 3-2 in the series. Game 6 is on Monday.

Losing Game 5 was not the only bad news for the Bruins as Patrice Bergeron got injured somehow and wound up going to a hospital for observation. After the game, Claude Julien said that Bergeron may or may not play in Game 6. Blackhawks Jonathan Toews was laid out a few times by Bruins players and did not play in some of the second period and did not play in the third period so he also could have been injured during the game.

Player notes
Kaspars Daugavins was scratched and Carl Soderberg was in the lineup. Soderberg looked good for a player that hasn't played in a real game for weeks. When Bergeron went down, Soderberg replaced Bergeron on his line and played with Jaromir Jagr and Brad Marchand.
