The underdog Bruins have already been counted out by many people but tonight they showed why they shouldn't be counted out as they were able to shut down the the high-powered #1 offense in the league, as the Bruins shutout the almighty Penguins 3-0 in game 1. The NBC broadcast drooled over the Penguins and were left quiet during the third period just as the Penguins fans were. NBC even showed the many bandwagon fans leaving the game during the third period. Watch the game summary video here.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Bruins David Krejci scored his 6th goal of the playoffs, making it 1-0 Bruins.

In the second period, no scoring happened. Penguins fans and organization say Matt Cooke is a changed player but as we saw in the second period, Cooke boarded Adam McQuaid from behind right in the numbers. This was no sudden turn by McQuaid, Cooke was chasing down McQuaid, was looking right at the numbers on the jersey but still decided to hit McQuaid from behind. Cooke got a 5-minute major and game misconduct. Later, Bruins Brad Marchand pushed James Neal from the side into the boards by the Penguins bench and he got a 2-minute minor for that as Penguins players yelled at the officials.
