Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli comments about Tyler Seguin

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli had some criticism for young forward Tyler Seguin who had a less productive season than the season before and barely showing up during the playoffs (1 goal, 7 assists in 22 games).
"He's got to commit his mind and focus to the one task at hand," Chiarelli said. "He's got to become more of a professional. You know what? I can say that about a lot of 21-year-olds. I know he got criticized for playing on the periphery and all that stuff. He did. He's got to commit to being a professional and focusing on the game. Simple as that. He does that, we don't expect him to be crashing and banging. Just play your game."

Chiarelli hopes that the Seguin trade talk will make Seguin be more of a professional and stop whatever he was doing before and focus on hockey.
"I hope it does," Chiarelli said. "If it doesn't, I’d be more concerned. We gave Tyler a big contract because he projects and he had good performance. I would expect that going forward."

From the quotes and a look at the season and playoff stats, it does seem true that Seguin was not putting hockey first at times and doing things that a 21-year old would do as we've all been there. Hopefully Seguin gets the message and has a great 2013-14 season.
