Bruins dominate Lightning in 5-0 win

The Bruins went to Tampa Bay to take on 5-2-0 Lightning and it ended up with the Bruins outplaying and blowing out the Lightning 5-0. Just complete domination in this game as the Bruins looked hungrier.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Bruins David Krejci scored his 1st goal of the season, making it 1-0 Bruins. Not longer after the Krejci goal, Bruins Gregory Campbell dropped the gloves with Lightning's B.J. Crombeen and Crombeen looked like he landed two punches to Campbell's face. Decision went to Crombeen in that fight.

In the second period, Bruins Adam McQuaid scored his 1st goal of the season, making it 2-0 Bruins. Later, Bruins Patrice Bergeron scored his 2nd goal of the season, making it 3-0 Bruins. Less than a minute later, Bruins Chris Kelly scored his 3rd goal of the season, making it 4-0 Bruins.

In the third period, 34 seconds into the period, Bruins Shawn Thornton scored his 1st goal of the season, making it 5-0 Bruins. Bruins Adam McQuaid dropped the gloves with Lightning's Nate Thompson after they crashed into the boards. McQuaid got the edge in that fight. Less than a minute later, Lightning's Radko Gudas took a run at Bruins Jarome Iginla and missed. Iginla didn't seem to like it much and went right at Gudas and challenged him. They had a spirited fight which looked like a draw. Remember, those two fought in the first game of the season as well.

Game notes
Tuukka Rask played in net and stopped all 23 shots he faced to earn his 1st shutout of the season. Rask is now 5-2-0 with a 1.29 GAA and a .954 save percentage this season.

The Bruins led the game in faceoff wins 32-31. The Lightning led the game in shots 23-22, hits 28-16 and blocked shots 14-8. The Bruins went 0-for-4 on the power-play while the Lightning went 0-for-3.

Patrice Bergeron led the Bruins with 6 shots. Milan Lucic led the Bruins with 5 hits. Johnny Boychuk led the Bruins with 2 blocked shots.

Player notes
Carl Soderberg played in his first game of the season, coming back from an ankle injury. Soderberg got an assist and looked good on the ice.

Jordan Caron and Matt Bartkowski were healthy scratches.
