The Bruins faced off against one of their newest conference enemies, the Columbus Blue Jackets. It was an early 2pm game and if you remember the past few seasons, the Bruins don't usually play well during early games. The Bruins started slow but got better as the game went on. The Bruins would tie it up with hot Chris Kelly putting a slap shot past goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. Early in the third period, new Bruin Loui Eriksson scored his 1st goal which would end up the eventual game winner.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Blue Jackets Jack Johnson scored a power-play goal, making it 1-0 Blue Jackets. Also in the period, Shawn Thornton dropped the gloves with Jared Boll and they had a rather uneventful fight. Thornton has been busy this season so far, getting into 3 fights in 4 games now, and he's in a contract year so maybe he's sending a message that he can still do what he does best.

In the second period, Bruins Chris Kelly scored his 2nd goal of the season, tying the game 1-1.

In the third period, in the first minute of play, Loui Eriksson scored his 1st goal of the season, making it 2-1 Bruins. Later in the period with the Blue Jackets goalie pulled, Milan Lucic scored his 2nd goal of the season, an empty net goal, as Jack Johnson couldn't control a bouncing puck and Lucic whacked Johnson's stick and the puck found the open net. It would end 3-1 Bruins.

Game notes
Tuukka Rask played in net and made 26 saves on 27 shots. Rask is now 3-1-0 with a 1.00 GAA and a .965 save percentage this season.

The Bruins led the game in shots 36-27, faceoff wins 34-28 and blocked shots 18-13. The Blue Jackets led the game in hits 29-28. The Bruins went 0-for-4 on the power-play while the Blue Jackets went 1-for-4.

Loui Eriksson led the Bruins with 6 shots. Campbell, Lucic, Paille, Caron, Seidenberg and Boychuk all led the Bruins with 3 hits. Adam McQuaid led the Bruins with 5 blocked shots.
