Bruins beat Flyers in shootout 4-3

The Bruins had another early game today as they visited the Philadelphia Flyers. It was an intense hard-hitting game that saw both teams come back from deficits and eventually it would go to a shootout where Bruins Reilly Smith once again won it for the Bruins.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Flyers Vincent Lecavalier scored making it 1-0 Flyers. Later, Bruins Andrej Meszaros scored his 7th goal of the season, tying the game 1-1. Late in the period, Flyers Kimmo Timonen scored, making it 2-1 Flyers.

In the second period, Bruins Zdeno Chara scored his 17th goal of the season, a power-play goal, tying the game 2-2. Later, Bruins Patrice Bergeron scored his 28th goal of the season, making it 3-2 Bruins.

In the third period, Flyers Vincent Lecavalier scored late in the period, tying the game 3-3.

In overtime, no scoring happened.

In the shootout, Bruins Patrice Bergeron scored and Flyers Claude Giroux scored. Bruins Reilly Smith won it in the 5th round for the Bruins with some nice moves.

Game notes
Tuukka Rask played in net for the Bruins and made 49 saves on 52 shots. Rask is now 34-14-5 with a 2.02 GAA and a .931 save percentage this season.

The Bruins led the game in hits 44-43. The Flyers led the game in shots 52-30, faceoff wins 41-32 and blocked shots 14-10. The Bruins went 1-for-2 on the power-play while the Flyers went 0-for-4.

Zdeno Chara led the Bruins with 4 shots. Shawn Thornton led the Bruins with 7 hits. Johnny Boychuk led the Bruins with 4 blocked shots and was a team-worst -3.
