Bruins trade Johnny Boychuk to Islanders

There has been speculation for months now about the Bruins trading someone before the season starts as they had too many defensemen and to also make some cap room. Today it was announced that the Bruins have traded defenseman Johnny Boychuk to the New York Islanders for two second round draft picks (Philadelphia Flyers second round pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft and the New York Islanders second round pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft) and a conditional third round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

The Bruins would only acquire the conditional 2015 third round pick from the Islanders if the Islanders trade Boychuk during the 2014-2015 season to an Eastern Conference team.

Sorry Jack Edwards, no more "Johnny rockets" for the Bruins.
