Blue Jackets dominate Bruins 6-2

The Bruins first game after the Christmas break was last night and it wasn't pretty at all as the Blue Jackets ran all over the Bruins and beat them badly 6-2.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Blue Jackets Scott Hartnell scored, making it 1-0 Blue Jackets. Only 20 seconds later, Bruins Patrice Bergeron scored, tying the game 1-1.

In the second period, 51 seconds into the period, Blue Jackets Scott Hartnell scored, making it 2-1 Blue Jackets. Bruins Milan Lucic dropped the gloves with Blue Jackets Dalton Prout and they had a spirited bout with Lucic bloodying Prout. Later, Blue Jackets Kevin Connauton scored, making it 3-1 Blue Jackets. Later, Blue Jackets Nick Foligno scored a power-play goal, making it 4-1 Blue Jackets. Later, Bruins Craig Cunningham scored his 2nd goal of the season, making it 4-2. Later, Blue Jackets Matt Calvert scored, making it 5-2 Blue Jackets.

In the third period, Blue Jackets Jeremy Morin scored, making it 6-2 Blue Jackets.

Game notes
Tuukka Rask started in net and made 12 saves on 15 shots. Rask came out in the second period and Niklas Svedberg played the rest of the game, making 12 saves on 15 shots as well. Svedberg got the loss, and is now 4-5-0 this season.

The Blue Jackets led the game in shots 30-28, hits 37-30, faceoff wins 36-28 and blocked shots 14-6. The Bruins went 0-for-3 on the power-play while the Blue Jackets went 1-for-2.

Dougie Hamilton led the Bruins with 6 shots. Kevan Miller led the Bruins with 4 hits.

Seth Griffith and Zach Trotman were scratched and didn't play.

The Bruins are now 18-15-3 with 39 points. The next game for the Bruins is on Monday, when they host the Detroit Red Wings, at 7pm ET.
