Senators beat Bruins 3-2 in shootout

Saturday afternoon the Bruins took on the Ottawa Senators, where they gave up game tying goals twice and wound up going to a shootout. The Senators would beat the Bruins 3-2 in the shootout.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Bruins Craig Cunningham scored his 1st NHL goal, a shorthanded goal, making it 1-0 Bruins.

In the second period, Senators Mika Zibanejad scored, tying the game 1-1. In the period, Bruins Milan Lucic dropped the gloves with Senators Mark Borowiecki, after Borowiecki tried to ram Lucic's head into the glass/boards. Later, Bruins Loui Eriksson scored his 5th goal of the season, making it 2-1 Bruins.

In the third period, Senators David Legwand scored a power-play goal, tying the game 2-2.

In overtime, no scoring happened.

In the shootout, Senators Mika Zibanejad scored; Bruins Brad Marchand scored; Senators Bobby Ryan scored to win the game for the Senators.

Game notes
Tuukka Rask played in net and made 29 saves on 31 shots. Rask is now 12-9-2 with a 2.55 GAA and a .911 save percentage this season.

Both teams had 31 shots. The Bruins led the game in faceoff wins 50-18 and blocked shots 18-14. The Senators led the game in hits 34-27. The Bruins went 0-for-1 on the power-play while the Senators went 1-for-3.

Loui Eriksson led the Bruins with 4 shots. Milan Lucic and Chris Kelly led the Bruins with 4 hits each.

Matt Bartkowski and Joe Morrow were scratched and didn't play.

The Bruins are now 15-13-2 with 32 points and are 5th place in the Atlantic Division. The next game for the Bruins is on Tuesday, at the Nashville Predators, at 8pm ET.
