Rask leads Bruins to 3-1 win over Panthers

Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask looked great in net against the Panthers on Friday and with a hot Brad Marchand, the Bruins were able to win the game 3-1 despite some late penalty trouble in the game.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Bruins Brad Marchand scored his 3rd goal of the season, a power-play goal, making it 1-0 Bruins.

In the second period, Bruins Brad Marchand scored his 4th goal of the season, making it 2-0 Bruins. Less than three minutes later, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara scored his 1st goal of the season, a power-play goal, making it 3-0 Bruins. Less than three minutes later, Panthers Nick Bjugstad scored, making it 3-1.

In the third period, no scoring happened. Late in the game, Bruins Brad Marchand got a boarding major and game misconduct (on Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov). It was an unnecessary push from behind and Marchand could face some discipline from the NHL.

Tuukka Rask played in net and made 31 saves on 32 shots. Rask is now 3-3-1 with a 3.29 GAA and a .889 save percentage this season.

The Bruins led the game in hits 41-34, faceoff wins 34-29 and blocked shots 17-6. The Panthers led the game in shots 32-30. The Bruins went 2-for-3 on the power-play while the Panthers went 1-for-5.

Jimmy Hayes led the Bruins with 6 shots and 6 hits. Zdeno Chara led the Bruins with 4 blocked shots.

Joonas Kemppainen and Zach Trotman were scratched and did not play.
