Bruins beat Maple Leafs 4-3 in shootout

On Monday the Bruins finished a home-and-home series with the Toronto Maple Leafs by beating the Maple Leafs 4-3 in a shootout. Monday's game was a back and forth type of game and not a goalie showdown as in Saturday's game.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Bruins Brad Marchand scored his 9th goal of the season, a short-handed goal, making the score 1-0 Bruins. Later, Bruins Zac Rinaldo scored his 1st goal of the season, making the score 2-0 Bruins.

In the second period, Maple Leafs Joffrey Lupul scored, making the score 2-1. Only 1:02 later, Maple Leafs Leo Komarov scored, tying the game up 2-2. Less than two minutes later, Bruins Brad Marchand scored his 10th goal of the season, making the score 3-2 Bruins. Less than two minutes later, Maple Leafs Tyler Bozak scored, tying the game up 3-3.

In the third period, no scoring happened.

In overtime, no scoring happened.

In the shootout, Bruins David Krejci scored in the third round to win the game 4-3.

Game notes
Tuukka Rask played in net and made 39 saves on 42 shots. Rask is now 7-7-1 with a 2.94 GAA and a .900 save percentage this season.

The Maple Leafs led the game in shots 42-29, hits 41-25, faceoff wins 44-33 and blocked shots 18-17. The Bruins went 0-for-3 on the power-play while the Maple Leafs went 0-for-6.

Torey Krug led the Bruins with 6 shots. Zac Rinaldo led the Bruins with 4 hits. David Krejci led the Bruins with 3 blocked shots.

Joe Morrow, Tyler Randell and Frank Vatrano were scratched and did not play.
