Bruins shutout Maple Leafs 2-0

On Saturday night the Bruins hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are last place in the Atlantic Division, and it was a goalie duel until late in the third period when Bruins captain Zdeno Chara put one past Leafs goalie Jason Reimer. Tuukka Rask and the Bruins would go on to shutout the Leafs.

Quick game summary

In the third period, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara scored his 3rd goal of the season, making it 1-0 Bruins. With seven seconds left in the game, Bruins Brad Marchand scored his 8th goal of the season, an empty-net goal, making it 2-0 Bruins.

Game notes
Tuukka Rask played in net and stopped all 22 shots he faced to earn his 2nd shutout of the season. Rask is now 6-7-1 with a 2.95 GAA and a .896 save percentage this season.

The Bruins led the game in shots 37-22, faceoff wins 35-29 and blocked shots 20-15. The Maple Leafs led the game in hits 29-23. Both teams went 0-for-1 on the power-play.

Kevan Miller, Joe Morrow and Frank Vatrano were scratched and did not play.

Vatrano out, Talbot recalled
With Vatrano out of the Bruins lineup with an upper-body injury (he is day-to-day) from the hit he took in the game vs the Wild, the Bruins recalled veteran Max Talbot and he played vs the Leafs.
