If you watch the incident again, it seemed the fans cheered for Thornton going after Rinaldo for the hit. Thornton will always be a Bruin while Rinaldo never will be in the hearts of Bruins fans. Later, Panthers Reilly Smith scored, making the score 2-1. With 1:23 left in the game and Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo on his way to the bench for an extra attacker, Bruins Brad Marchand scored his 14th goal of the season, an empty-net goal, making the score 3-1 Bruins.
