Senators spank Bruins 6-1, Bruins eliminated from playoffs

Bruins Patrice Bergeron yells at his teammates during a timeout to try and wake his team up, but it obviously didn't work, on April 9, 2016. Watch the game recap video here.
This is what happens when you don't show up for the majority of your games and then you rush at the end of the season to get as many points as possible but you also don't show up for those games, you lose and miss the playoffs.

This isn't anything new for the Bruins as the past couple of seasons this has been what the Bruins do, don't show up to most games, show up to a few games and play like a playoff team, which gets fans excited, and then the Bruins don't show up in the most important games and disappoint their fans. The Bruins are a frustrating team to watch and root for. I love Claude Julien as the coach of the Bruins but something has to change. I think it's time to start over, players and coaching staff, but that's just my opinion and I'm no hockey expert, just a fan.

As much as I was against trading Joe Thornton way back when, well that turned out in the end to be a good move. It's maybe time to trade away veterans that can bring in some young talent and/or draft picks (please don't trade Patrice Bergeron though as he's the one untouchable to me). Right now it just sucks to be a fan of a team that doesn't show up to games and play hard.

Below is the quick summary of the game but in short, the Bruins didn't show up and got spanked by the Ottawa Senators, also a non-playoff team. With this loss and the Flyers beating the Penguins, the Bruins were officially eliminated from the playoffs.

On Friday, Matt Beleskey said this:
"Don't come to the game if you’re expecting a letdown. I don't care if you're there," said a smiling Beleskey with a laugh. "We're going to play hard and we're going to try and get the job done. I think the fans are pretty good here and I know they all want us to win on Saturday. I'm sure they'll be there in their Black and Gold on Saturday ready to go."
