Bruins beat Canadiens in overtime 2-1

On Monday night it was a goalie duel with Bruins Tuukka Rask vs Canadiens Carey Price but Rask would come out the winner as Bruins Ryan Spooner won it for the Bruins in overtime.

Quick game summary
In the first period, no scoring happened. Bruins Torey Krug dropped the gloves with Canadiens Brendan Gallagher and they had a short fight.

In the second period, Bruins Austin Czarnik scored his 3rd goal of the season, beating Price with a beautiful shot, giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead.

In the third period, Canadiens Paul Byron scored, tying the game 1-1. Byron has quickly become a Bruins killer during his short-time with Montreal.

In overtime, Bruins Ryan Spooner scored his 4th goal of the season, winning the game 2-1 for the Bruins.

Game notes
Tuukka Rask played in net and made 30 saves on 31 shots. Rask is now 15-5-0-2 with a 1.80 GAA and a .932 save percentage this season.

The Bruins led the game with a 53% faceoff percentage, hits 34-31 and blocked shots 25-8. The Canadiens led the game in shots 31-29. The Bruins went 0-for-1 on the power-play while the Canadiens went 0-for-5. No surprise of the big difference there as the game was in Montreal.

Patrice Bergeron led the Bruins with 5 shots. David Backes led the Bruins with 7 hits. Brandon Carlo led the Bruins with 5 blocked shots.

Matt Beleskey, Danton Heinen and Colin Miller were scratched for the Bruins.

The Bruins are now 16-12-2 with 34 points this season and are in 3rd place in the Atlantic division. The Bruins are now 5-3-2 in their last 10 games and their road record is now 9-5-2 this season. The next game for the Bruins is on Wednesday, when they visit the Pittsburgh Penguins, at 7:30pm ET.
