Bruins beat Hurricanes in shootout 2-1

Last night the Bruins were able to tie the game up late in the third period and red hot David Pastrnak would score the game-winning goal in the shootout to get Bruins backup goalie Anton Khudobin his first win of the season.

Quick game summary
In the first period, no scoring happened.

In the second period, Hurricanes Noah Hanifin scored a power-play goal, giving the Hurricanes a 1-0 lead.

In the third period, Bruins Torey Krug scored his 2nd goal of the season, tying the game 1-1.

In overtime, no scoring happened.

In the shootout, Bruins Ryan Spooner and Hurricanes Jaccob Slavin scored in the first round; Bruins David Pastrnak scored in the third round which would be the eventual game-winning goal.

Game notes
Anton Khudobin played in net and made 29 saves on 30 shots. Khudobin is now 1-3-0 with a 2.75 GAA and a .902 save percentage this season.

The Bruins led the game with a 58% faceoff percentage, shots 35-30 and hits 26-20. The Hurricanes led the game in blocked shots 22-13. The Bruins went 0-for-4 on the power-play, while the Hurricanes went 1-for-2.

David Pastrnak and Torey Krug led the Bruins with 6 shots each. Matt Beleskey and David Backes led the Bruins with 5 hits each. Adam McQuaid led the Bruins with 3 blocked shots.

Zdeno Chara (day-to-day with a lower-body injury) and John-Michael Liles were scratched for the Bruins.
