On Saturday, Bruins GM Don Sweeney announced that Bruins forward David Backes has been diagnosed with a concussion and will be out of the Bruins lineup indefinitely. Backes suffered the concussion in the Bruins 4-2 win at the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday, December 29th.

This season, Backes has played in 33 games for the Bruins, scoring 9 goals and recording 10 assists for 19 points, along with 31 penalty minutes. Backes also leads the team with 98 hits this season.
