Hurricanes beat Bruins 2-1 in shootout

Earlier today the Bruins visited the Carolina Hurricanes and it was once again another game that went into extra periods. The Hurricanes wound up beating the Bruins 2-1 in a shootout.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Bruins Gregory Campbell dropped the gloves with Hurricanes Brad Malone. Later, Hurricanes Patrick Dwyer scored, making it 1-0 Hurricanes.

In the second period, Bruins Patrice Bergeron scored his 8th goal of the season, tying the game 1-1.

In the third period, no scoring happened.

In overtime, no scoring happened.

In the shootout, Hurricanes Eric Staal scored to win the game.

Game notes
Tuukka Rask played in net and made 35 saves on 36 shots. Rask is now 15-10-6 this season.

The Bruins went 0-for-1 on the power-play while the Hurricanes went 0-for-2. The Bruins led the game in hits 42-31 and faceoff wins 38-34. The Hurricanes led the game in shots 36-20. Both teams had 15 blocked shots.

Reilly Smith led the Bruins with 5 shots. Chris Kelly led the Bruins with 6 hits.

Jordan Caron and Matt Bartkowski were scratched and didn't play.
