The Bruins have won their past two games, against the Philadelphia Flyers 6-3, and against the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-0. The Bruins are now 29-26-4, are 7-3-0 in their last 10 games, and are fighting for a playoff spot. The Bruins currently have 62 points and are 12th place in the Eastern Conference playoff hunt. The Carolina Hurricanes are currently the 8th seed right now with 67 points. The Bruins are still behind the Maple Leafs (66 points), the Islanders (66 points), and the Rangers (63 points).
The Bruins play at the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday and then play the Florida Panthers on Saturday. The Bruins need to win these games to get closer to the 8th playoff spot.
There was news on Tuesday that the Bruins and Marco Sturm have been talking about a new contract that would keep him here in Boston. Nothing is done yet but I think this is good. I like what Sturm brings the Bruins and hopefully he is resigned soon.
