The Boston Bruins have signed Milan Lucic to an entry-level contract. On Bruins.NHL.com, Peter Chiarelli had this to say about Lucic:
On the BruinsInsider blog, Douglas Flynn says:
This is good for the Bruins as I think Lucic will be a good role player for the Bruins in the future. It's always good to have players like him on your team.
"Since being drafted, Milan has shown consistent improvement, which was highlighted by his performance in the Memorial Cup. He also demonstrated his considerable progress during our development camp in July where his size, strength and physical play reinforced everything that led us to select him last year. Though he still could use some improvement in certain areas, he showed us a lot with his offensive production last season. He plays like a prototypical power forward and we are very excited to have him signed."
On the BruinsInsider blog, Douglas Flynn says:
"The club did not release terms of the deal, but Lucic confirmed that it is a three-year contract. Entry-level deals for players drafted through 2006 have a maximum annual salary of $850,000, though bonuses can increase that total - and the cap hit for the player."
