Possible free agent pickups

With most of the big free agents already going to teams, I looked through the list of free agents and found some guys who may be "quiet" good additions to the Bruins.

Center/wing Jeff Hamilton who is 30 years old and is known as an ok/average player. He played last season for the Carolina Hurricanes, in 58 games, scored 9 goals and had 24 points. He had a good year the season before with the Chicago Blackhawks, but a down year last season.

Wing/center Zenon Konopka who is 27 years old, and mostly known as an agitator on the ice. He played only 3 games and had 15 PIMs for the Columbus Blue Jackets last season.

Defenseman/right wing Steve Montador who is 28 years old, is a solid defenseman who plays a rough tough game. Last season he played for the Florida Panthers in 73 games, with 8 goals, 23 points, and 73 PIMs.

Center/wing Mike York who is 30 years old, has been average to bad ever since his good rookie season with the New York Rangers. Last season he played for the Phoenix Coyotes in 63 games and he had 6 goals with 14 total points. He definitely would be a gamble to pick up but if you could get him for the league minimum then why not.

With Carolina, Hamilton was 11th overall in scoring even though he ranked 19th on the team in ice time. (only 10+ min/game) More than half of that was spent on the 4th line. In points per time played he had quite a year. Nobody can score from the bench or the press box. It really is about opportunity.
