Bruins recall McQuaid and Wozniewski, place Lucic on IR

On Tuesday, the Bruins recalled defensemen Adam McQuaid and Andy Wozniewski from the Providence Bruins (AHL) on an emergency basis. Also, the Bruins have placed Milan Lucic on injured reserve.

Both McQuaid and Wozniewski had good training camps. Some info on McQuaid and Wozniewski:

The 23-year-old McQuaid has played in 29 games this season for Providence and has registered 3-7=10 totals and 66 penalty minutes. Last year with the P-Bruins, McQuaid had 4-11=15 totals and 141 penalty minutes in 78 games. He was originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round (55th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. McQuaid was traded to Boston from Columbus for a 2007 fifth round draft pick (Jamie Benn) on May 16, 2007.

The 29-year-old Wozniewski has skated in 29 games for the P-Bruins and recorded 6-17=23 totals. He was signed by Boston as a free agent on September 9, 2009 after splitting last year between the AHL affiliates of the Penguins and Blues. The Buffalo Grove, Illinois native has tallied 2-10=12 totals and 81 penalty minutes in 77 career NHL games with the Blues and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was signed to his first pro contract with Toronto on May 27, 2004 and was a member of the Leafs organization until he signed as a free agent by the Blues on July 17, 2008. He was traded to Pittsburgh on March 4, 2009 before signing with the B’s as a free agent on September 9, 2009.
