Bruins beat Senators 4-2

Earlier yesterday, the Bruins made two big trades which brought Tomas Kaberle, Rich Peverley, and Boris Valabik to the Bruins. Then later Friday night they played against the struggling Ottawa Senators. Kaberle and Chris Kelly made their Bruins debut in a 4-2 Bruins win. Despite at times looking asleep, the Bruins were tied 1-1 going into the third period. In the third period they exploded with three goals to put away the Senators.

In the second period, Brad Marchand scored his 17th goal of the season.

In the third period, Nathan Horton scored his 15th goal of the season. Dennis Seidenberg scored his 6th goal of the season, a power-play goal. Marchand scored his second goal of the game, his 18th goal of the season.

Tuukka Rask played again in net and made 32 saves on 34 shots. Rask is now 7-11-1, with a 2.85 GAA, and a .918 save percentage.

The Senators led the game in shots 34-33, led in faceoff wins 34-29, led in hits 28-18. Both teams had 14 blocked shots. The Bruins went 1 for 5 on the power-play.

Kaberle wore #12 and Kelly wore #23 for their new team.

Kaberle was a -1, with 1 blocked shot, 2 hits, and 0 shots in 19:34 of ice time. Kaberle was on a defense pair with Seidenberg. He was on the power-play with Zdeno Chara at the point.

Kelly went 4-5 in faceoffs, had 2 PIMs, 1 blocked shot, and 1 hit in 15:09 of ice time.
