If you haven't heard yet, well a Montreal fan is having a protest against dangerous hits and I guess someone asked Washington Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau what he thought and he spoken out open and honestly.
Finally someone said what lots of others not from Montreal were thinking.
The fan who started the protest then came back with a response.
Just about every hit in the game of hockey is dangerous, now with how fast the game is played. It's the headshots that need to be stopped. And of course the Montreal media is turning Boudreau's comments into an attack against the protesters.
"Don't come. If you don't like it, don't come to the games," Boudreau said, according to The Washington Post. "I think the players realize they could get hurt. They don't want to do it, but unless you've played and see what goes on at the speed of the game, you're not gonna be able to argue with it."
"And listen, I don't want to get into any controversy," he said, "but if that was Hal Gill that hit David Krejci, I don't think there'd be a protest going on here today."

"Mr. Boudreau has to remember who pays his salary," Henriquez said. "Guys like him are paid by fans. If fans want to protest, I don't think anybody should judge what fans want on the ice. It's unacceptable. But he has the right to have his opinion. We're in a free land."
"Too often, people like Bruce Boudreau say it's part of the game and it's what fans like," Henriquez said. "I'm sorry, it's not part of the game and it's not what we want."
