This was such a terrible game by the Bruins that I don't even feel like going over it, it was that awful. The only positives, if you can really take any from a 6-1 game, was Shawn Thornton beating up Mike Commodore, Patrice Bergeron played and went 20-7 in faceoffs, and Jordan Caron continues to play well as he scored the only goal for the Bruins.

Quick game summary
All you have to know is Marty Turco started in net, as Julien tried to get Tim Thomas some rest, but that went out the window quick.

Less than two minutes into the game, Turco lost his stick and Tom Pyatt was able to redirect a puck with his skate past Turco. Jack Edwards went ballistic when the refs (and Toronto) called it a good goal. I can see Jack's point but if you look at it closely, you don't really see a "distinct kicking motion," at least I didn't. Only thirty seconds later the Lightning scored again as Turco got out of position and Nate Thompson had an empty net. And 2:05 later, the Lightning scored again, this time a power-play goal. Turco was pulled after that third goal and in came Tim Thomas. Later in the period, Victor Hedman scored, making it 4-0. Shawn Thornton dropped the gloves with Mike Commodore and Thornton handled the fight well, landing some good punches.

Shawn Thornton vs Mike Commodore

The Bruins ended the period with only two shots on net.

The Lightning would then sit back and not do much for the rest of the game, except put a few more pucks past Bruins goalies. In the second period, Steven Stamkos scored 3:06 into the period and out came Thomas and back in the net went Turco. It was now 5-1. Turco would play the rest of the game.

In the third period, Jordan Caron scored his 7th goal of the season, making it 5-1. Stamkos later scored again, which was his 50th goal of the season.

Onto the next one
The Bruins are now 40-26-3 with 83 points. The Bruins are in danger of dropping out of a playoff spot (yes Andy they are), especially with the "garbage hockey" they've been playing.

The next game for the Bruins is on Thursday at the Florida Panthers at 7:30pm ET. The Panthers are on a 2-game winning streak as they beat Toronto on Tuesday night. While the Bruins have been slumping for a while now and are on a 3-game losing streak.
