Rangers beat Bruins 4-3

The Bruins played a better overall game today but couldn't get a fourth goal by Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist as the Rangers beat the Bruins 4-3.

Quick summary
Daniel Paille was not in the lineup so in came Lane MacDermid. In the first period, Lane MacDermid, playing in his 1st NHL game, dropped the gloves with big Mike Rupp. Both guys threw some big punches but I would give it a draw.

Later, Ruslan Fedotenko and Carl Hagelin scored to make it 2-0 Rangers. Bruins Benoit Pouliot scored his 10th goal of the season making it 2-1. Milan Lucic and Brandon Prust dropped the gloves off a faceoff and had a good one with Lucic getting the edge in that one. Prust landed one early on but Lucic came back and landed some big punches. These two have a history too, where Prust got the better of Lucic last season. The Lucic fight seemed to give the Bruins a momentum boost that they carried into the second period.

Later, Gregory Campbell dropped the gloves with Stu Bickel and had an ok fight, not much happened in that one. Watch it here.

In the second period, Jordan Caron scored his 4th goal of the season tying the game 2-2. The Bruins controlled most of the second period.

In the third period, Marian Gaborik scored for the Rangers making it 3-2. Later, David Krejci scored to tie the game 3-3. The Rangers would come right back though and Derek Stepan scored making it 4-3 Rangers.

Surprising stat. There are only six other NHL teams that have hit less than Bruins have this season. The NY Rangers are first. Source and hit stats on NHL.com. That is a stat you don't want to hear as a Bruins fan.
