On Wednesday, Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli announced that the Bruins have re-signed forwards Chris Kelly and Gregory Campbell. This is great news for Bruins fans as I thought it was going to be tough signing both of them but Chiarelli got it done. Kelly signed a 4-year contract worth $12 million ($3 million average). Campbell signed a 3-year contract worth $4.8 million ($1.6 million average).
The 2011-12 season marked the 28-year-old Campbell's second as a member of the Boston Bruins. In his two seasons with the club, he has skated in 158 regular season games with 21 goals, 24 assists and 173 penalty minutes. Campbell has appeared in 32 postseason contests with Boston and has tallied one goal and five assists for six points. During the Bruins 2011 Stanley Cup Championship run, Campbell played in all 25 playoff games and recorded 1-3=4 totals with four penalty minutes.
