Bruins beat Leafs in shootout 3-2

The Bruins played much better on Monday night against the Maple Leafs and were able to tie the game 2-2 in the third period. It would go to a shootout and Bruins Patrice Bergeron scored the game winning goal.

Quick game summary
In the first period, no scoring happened.

In the second period, Maple Leafs Joffrey Lupul scored a power-play goal, making it 1-0. Later, Maple Leafs Nikolai Kulemin scored, making it 2-0. Less than two minutes later, Bruins Milan Lucic scored his 5th goal of the season, making it 2-1.

In the third period, Bruins Patrice Bergeron scored his 9th goal of the season, tying the game 2-2.

In overtime, no one scored.

In the shootout, Bruins Tyler Seguin scored, Leafs Tyler Bozak scored, Bruins Patrice Bergeron scored, Leafs Nazem Kadri didn't score, Bruins Brad Marchand didn't score, and Leafs Nikolai Kulemin didn't score.

The fan looks up to try to find where it came from. *Update: It is not Geoff Ward's earpiece but Tyler Seguin tossing his smelling salts and they end up in the guy's beer. Game notes
Tuukka Rask played in net and made 23 saves on 25 shots. Rask is now 15-4-3 with a 1.90 GAA and a .928 save percentage this season.

The Bruins led the game in shots 29-25, hits 25-22 and faceoff wins 44-26. The Maple Leafs led the game in blocked shots 19-8. The Bruins went 0-for-1 on the power-play while the Maple Leafs went 1-for-3.

Daniel Paille led the Bruins with 5 shots. Dennis Seidenberg led the Bruins with 5 hits. Andrew Ference led the Bruins with 3 blocked shots.

Player notes
Adam McQuaid and Johnny Boychuk were out of the lineup, while Aaron Johnson and Matt Bartkowski were in the lineup.

Ryan Spooner was assigned to Providence (AHL) on Sunday.
