Leafs beat Bruins in overtime in badly reffed game

On Thursday the Bruins visited the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are fighting for a playoff spot. The game was ruined by the refs with some of the worst calls we've seen this season. Just a disgrace to the game. The Leafs would come away with a 4-3 overtime win over the Bruins.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Maple Leafs Paul Ranger scored, making it 1-0 Leafs. Less than a minute later, Bruins Brad Marchand scored his 23rd goal of the season, tying the game 1-1. Late in the period, Maple Leafs Tyler Bozak scored, making it 2-1 Leafs.

In the second period, Maple Leafs James van Riemsdyk scored, making it 3-1 Leafs. Bruins Milan Lucic and Leafs David Clarkson dropped the gloves and had a quick bout with Lucic throwing two punches and Clarkson getting overpowered and falling to the ice.

In the third period, Bruins Milan Lucic scored his 22nd goal of the season, making it 3-2. Later, Bruins Patrice Bergeron scored his 28th goal of the season, tying the game 3-3.

In overtime, Maple Leafs Nazem Kadri scored a power-play goal, winning the game 4-3.

Game notes
Backup goalie Chad Johnson played in net and made 27 saves on 31 shots. Johnson is now 17-3-2 with a 2.12 GAA and a .923 save percentage this season.

The Bruins led the game in shots 38-31 and hits 30-29. The Maple Leafs led the game in faceoff wins 34-29 and blocked shots 21-7. The Bruins went 0-for-2 on the power-play while the Maple Leafs went 1-for-3.

Patrice Bergeron led the Bruins with 8 shots. Matt Bartkowski led the Bruins with 5 hits. Shawn Thornton and Johnny Boychuk led the Bruins with 2 blocked shots each.

The Bruins are now 52-18-7 with 111 points and are 1st place in the Eastern Confernce and in the Atlantic Division. The next game for the Bruins is on Saturday when they host the Philadelphia Flyers at 1pm ET.
