Hurricanes beat Bruins in overtime 3-2

Last night the Bruins played their last game before the Christmas holidays and managed to get a point in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. If the Hurricanes out-hit you in a game then you don't deserve the win as the Bruins looked to take the night off.

Quick game summary
In the first period, Bruins Ryan Spooner scored his 5th goal of the season, giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead.

In the second period, Bruins Brad Marchand scored his 10th goal of the season, a power-play goal, giving the Bruins a 2-0 lead. Later, Hurricanes Jordan Staal scored a short-handed goal, cutting the Bruins lead to 2-1.

In the third period, Hurricanes Justin Faulk scored, tying the game 2-2.

In overtime, Hurricanes Teuvo Teravainen scored, winning the game 3-2 for the Hurricanes.

Game notes
Anton Khudobin played in net and made 20 saves on 23 shots. Khudobin is now 1-5-0-1 with a 3.06 GAA and a .885 save percentage this season.

The Bruins led the game with a 51% faceoff percentage and shots 33-23. The Hurricanes led the game in hits 26-11. Both teams had 18 blocked shots. The Bruins went 1-for-3 on the power-play while the Hurricanes went 0-for-2.

David Backes led the Bruins with 7 shots. Zdeno Chara led the Bruins with 5 blocked shots.

Noel Acciari, Tim Schaller and Joe Morrow were scratched for the Bruins.
